Wipro Limited
The Rishad Premji-led corporation is another firm that has consistently spent more than its prescribed CSR budget for the last three fiscals. The companies CSR activities mainly focuses on primary healthcare and disaster management across four states.
ITC Limited
The organization’s ITC Choupal has become the gold standard for community development globally. The flagship CSR program of the company has benefitted millions of farmers through digital literacy and empowerment.
Vedanta Limited
The company has directed much of its CSR activities towards agriculture and rural development. Zero Harm, Zero Waste and Zero Discharge has been the watchword of Vedanta’s CSR programs.
Hindustan Unilever Limited
Unilever Sustainable Living Plan (USLP) has been the guiding principle of Hindustan Unilever’s CSR activities. Launched in 2010, the plan has led the company to spend more than the mandated 2% of profits towards CSR initiatives.
Godrej Consumer Products Limited
Godrej spent Rs 19.49 crore on its CSR activities in FY20, with disease prevention, waste management and women empowerment being the area of focus. It runs waste management projects with the ultimate aim of cleaner waste recycling process.
Grasim Industries Limited
Part of the Aditya Birla Group, this new entrant to the CSR scene in India has received praise from many old hands for its novel approach to CSR in India. Much of its CSR operations includes management and operation of hospitals and schools.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited
The CSR projects of this Maharatna company are the ones to look up to. The employees of the PSU collectively contributed Rs 4,27 crore towards India’s COVID fight.
