Top ten doable lifestyle hacks to make 2022 healthier

New Year’s resolutions are made every year, but after following it for a few weeks or months, the resolutions are discontinued. This happens due to lack of motivation, proper planning and execution. Sometimes, we set the bar so high that our mind gives up quickly. Here, in this article, we have discussed about how you can bring change to your lifestyle effortlessly to become healthier in 2022-

  1. Enjoy the process, not the goal- The first step towards any resolution is to find out where your passion lies. Suppose you are planning to lose weight, but you don’t like the process, it becomes harder to work out, but if you associate your workout with your favorite hobby you become motivated. How do you do that? Just set in mind that I will watch a web series after working out for 15 mins.
  2. Small but consistent- The success of any resolution depends on its consistency. If you are a beginner, and suddenly you decide to work out for 2 hours every day, your body will not cooperate and you will discontinue it within just a few days. Begin with small steps, start working out for 10 mins and gradually increase the timing every week.
  3. Supportive environment is a must- Imagine a nice movie night with pizzas and cokes, can you work out with that? The answer would be ‘no’ of course. The pizza and movie would lure you to skip workout. However, if your environment is peaceful and you are focused only on working out, you will be able to do it easily.
  4. Socialize it - Imagine working out alone vs with a group of young enthusiasts who are determined to accomplish the same goal. In such a situation, you will feel more motivated because you will constantly stay in touch with your peers who share the similar goal as yours.
  5. A handy backup plan- A backup plan means if some day, you miss out going to the gym, you should not skip the workout session for the day, instead you can plan out a mini workout session at your home so that you don’t lose the consistency.
  6. Surround yourself with supportive peers- Never underestimate the impact of your circle. Half of your thought process is influenced by your peer group. If they constantly demotivate you, you are not in a right circle.
  7. Invest in your goal- Investment in goal encourages you to continue even on the days you don’t feel like working out. If you take a gym subscription, you would not like to skip the workout since you have paid for it.
  8. Reward yourself- Self rewards are a great way to appreciate yourself for the good job you do. Make a weekly planner and reward yourself at the end of every week with something you like. A movie, an ice-cream or anything as such that makes you happy.
  9. Gamify your workout- If you have decided to lose weight, don’t just restrict yourself to a gym. Not everyone enjoys going to the gym, but one may enjoy aerobics, dance or Zumba which is entertaining as well. So it’s important for you to choose the right kind of work out that works the best for you.
  10. Spare some pastime- In the end, don’t be so hard on yourself. Give yourself a much-needed break and enjoy the pastime because you deserve it.
