There are many players in the world of cricket who can hit a long ball once in a while. However, not all of them can clear the boundary with ease every time they mark their guard. Yes, we are talking about the batsmen with long levers and ruthless power. Here are top 10 six hitters among all the active international cricketers today:
Top 10 Six Hitters
- Chris Gayle: Talk about six-hitting and the ‘Universal Boss’ is up there at the top. The big man from Jamaica is a nightmare for the bowlers. When he gets going, the world stops and admires. His capability to hit sixes with utmost ease makes him a dangerous customer. He can sit back in his crease or even come forward and smack the ball out of the park, whenever it falls in his ark.

- Kieron Pollard: One big man is followed by another big lad from West Indies. Pollard is a Trinidadian and he loves to smack the ball from the word go. A massive figure on the cricket pitch, Kieron Pollard only knows one way, see the ball and hit the ball. The destructive batsman has already made his mark by hitting six sixes in an over, but the caravan won’t stop there for sure.

- Rohit Sharma: The hitman and his six hitting spree never ceases to amaze. The opening batsman has a good technique, but he is very severe on the short ball. Rohit loves hitting sixes and never shies away from doing it even in test matches. When he is on song, you expect a six from his willow after every 5-10 balls.

- Glenn Maxwell: Arguably one of the watchable batters in the modern day cricket, you associate sixes with Maxwell, as he mainly focuses on lifting the ball. He may not have cracked the code at international level with respect to winning more matches for his side, but the ‘big show’ is a treat to watch on his day. Also Read: Top 10 Batsmen in History of Cricket TopTen

- David Warner: The pocket dynamo is a big hitter of the cricket ball. Once set, Warner is a batter who backs himself to clear the rope with ease. He loves to arch back and make room to hit the ball over extra cover and mid-off. In T20’s, he can take the game away in the blink of an eye.

- David Miller: The killer Miller is not new on the international scene. He has won many games for his team with his ability to strike big. Miller is a clear hitter and when he hits it, it stays hit. No ground is big enough for him and when the ball is in his V, it really goes up on the tree.

- Thisara Perera: He may not feature regularly for Sri Lanka, but his capability to tear off leather from a cricket ball is undoubted. Perera is a big man with a big heart and loves to follow the hand-eye coordination. He’s a left-handed version of Shahid Afridi and he would give anything to come close to the records set by the former.

- Jos Butler: A prolific wicketkeeper batsman, Butler relies on timing, while also hitting the ball hard, when the pace is slow. He is a smart cricketer, who loves to use the crease and play some unorthodox shots as well. Butler is a consistent performer and lets his bat do all the talking.

- Colin Munro: He gets the nod ahead of Martin Guptil because of his consistency with which he smacks the cherry. Munro can be lethal, especially in the power play. He lets the ball come to him and hits it as hard as he could. A treat to watch, Munro is very capable of turning the heads around.

- Jonny Bairstow: The opening partner of Butler, Bairstow can hit sixes for fun. He often races to his fifties within the first 10 overs in a T20 match. He relies on timing and brute force that he generates from his bottom hand. Bairstow can strike them big even when others find it difficult to lay bat on ball. Although he would love to be a bit more consistent, Bairstow is a match winner for his country.
