2. Heath Ledger – The Dark Knight
The dark Knight is Heath Ledger’s career-defining performance, making viewers horribly nervous right there. A masterpiece of staging, which you can see with great excitement and inescapable sadness. It will definitely bring your brain impulses to explode.
3. Charlie Chaplin - Limelight
Although it was not the legend’s last film, Limelight is often considered as his farewell. His performance in the movie as a Calvero is often considered as his most personal, revealing film. Charlie’s performance in this movie is considered as one of the best performances he ever did.
4. Conrad Veidt- The Man Who Laughs
A creepy smile that creates a terrifying disconnection between the eyes and mouth is the best description of one of the last treasures of the German silent Expressionism. The Man Who Laughs is so steeped in the Expressionist gloom that it plays like a horror movie. Gwynplaines although with a creepy smile, unlike the Joker and other clown villains is a good and decent man.
5. Jack Nicholson – Tim Burton Batman
Have you ever “danced with the devil in the pale moonlight”? Jack Nicholson is known to be the Jocker with the best one-liner. The best thing about him the critics believe that he was just himself which turned his performance so iconic.
6. Cesar Romero – Batman TV Series
Joker, as it is known today as one of the most insane and deadly villains today, in fact, wasn’t always the same way. It used to be opposite when Cesar Romero played Joker – a comic strip version of the what we know it today – the dark villain.
7. Andy Powers– Clown
The movie is refreshingly dark and hits so hard on the memory of the viewers that it leaves a mark. Andy Powers’ performance in this breath-taking cinematic horror is a little stronger than the story itself which makes the performance itself extraordinary.
8. Cameron Monaghan – Gotham
Gotham is absolutely insane and terrifying; his laugh is just too scary. Cameron Monaghan was only 24 when he brought life to the terrifying movie character - Jerome with his jaw-dropping performance.
9. Jared Leto – Suicide Squad
While most of the critics unanimously rejected almost everything about Jared Letos’ performance in Suicide Squad, the audiences overwhelmingly negated the negative reviews. His unique energy and craze take on the role were really enjoyed by fans. Leto’s infusion of eroticism in the role was much appreciated.
10. Bill Skarsgård – IT
Skarsgård’s performance as Pennywise is often compared to Tim Curry’s Pennywise. Skarsgård’s Pennywise was simply a monster, his body language and his voice are what was terrifying. The movie starts with terrorizing the Loser’s club and becomes even more with each encounter.
