It hasn’t been a day since Forbes released its list of the top highest paid Bollywood actors. The earnings have been recorded from June 2016 to June 2017. Box Office India, Box Office Mojo, IMDB and press interviews form the basis of results. The list is topped by the King of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan followed by Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar. It is interesting to note that only two female actors could make their way to the list.

Top 10 highest paid Bollywood actors

1. Shahrukh Khan

He tops the list by raking in a whopping $38 million for Raees and varied other elite brand endorsements. It is interesting to note that he left behind Ryan Gosling and Matt Damon in earning list sweeping in 8th position in the worldwide list.

2. Salman Khan

Despite consecutive flops at the box office, the benevolent actor managed to take home $37 million last year. A significant proportion of these earnings came from the TV show Big Boss. He raked in 9th position in the worldwide list.

3. Akshay Kumar

The Bollywood actor took home $35.5 million (equivalent to Rs 224 crore) the previous year. His films Jolly LLB, Housefull 3 and Rustom contributed to a big chunk of his earnings. An interesting fact to be noted here is his earnings surpassed the earning of Mark Ruffalo and Ryan Reynolds put together. He raked in number 10 on the worldwide list.

4. Aamir Khan

Though the biggest hit of Bollywood came from Mr. Perfectionist, yet he stands behind his contemporaries in the top ten paid list. He earned $12.5 million the last year which is a big dip in number 4, Akshay Kumar.

5. Hrithik Roshan

He managed to rank number 5 on the list with yearly earnings of $11.5 million. Losses made by Mohenjadaro.

6. Deepika Padukone

The stunning south Indian beauty took home $11 million last year. She made her big Hollywood debut opposite Vin Diesel in xXx: Return of Xander Cage. Her earning made her the highest paid female actor in Bollywood, yet she’s far forming highest paid female actor, Emma Stone who earned $26 million.

7. Ranveer Singh

The flamboyant actor raked in $10 million the last year. The reason is attributed to leading brand endorsements viz, Durex, Chings and much more.

8. Priyanka Chopra

Piggy Chops took home $10 million that came majorly form her role in ABC drama, Quantico, Baywatch and several brand endorsements.

9. Amitabh Bachchan

The evergreen actor earned $9 million for Pink, a film based on the social welfare of women.

10. Ranbir Kapoor

He is the last entry on the list with yearly earnings of $8.5 million. His only release was Karan Johar’s AeDil Hai Mushkil which was a love triangle that opened up new vistas of new age love definition.
